An Update – Groups and More

Dear All

Its been a busy few weeks for Cat our TimeBank Development Worker, who at the start of lockdown became part of the Eastern Perthshire Team (PKC) to support community groups responding to Covid 19 and joined the Blairgowrie and Rattray Coronovirus Coordination group to assist with Volunteers, Food Parcel Deliveries and access to service for all residents. We have also been looking at funding to respond to the crisis and we are thankful to have accessed funds to continue our groups virtually, to support volunteers with PPE and other needs, and a small fund to help both Coupar Angus and Burrelton Community Groups supporting local residents. Unfortunately it is unlikely that any face to face groups will start before the end of the year. We are looking at ways of creating smaller groups that can meet in larger spaces, but with most of our social groups having between 10 and 25 members attending, out of the box thinking is required. Lots of groups now have the of support Sam Stewart – proactive communities to improve their online presence and have a facebook page. So if you have been missing out on Tea Dances, Blethers etc keep an eye out for their new pages and updates on their plans for 2020.

A massive thank you to all the Time Bank volunteers who have come forward to support food parcels, prescription requests and odd jobs. We still need more help with a lot of our volunteers and members being in the 65+ age range and not able to do face to face drop offs etc .

Cat Mackay can be contacted Mon, Wed and Fri 10 – 3pm. the rest of the time she is attempting to homeschool 2 kids and do her other art job!! Time Bank Mobile is 07761233418.
